Service Description
The Therapeutic Movement and Mindfulness Foundations Programme is an inclusive and gently paced programme over 8 weeks. This programme works directly with the physiological elements of trauma by using yoga forms, stabilising breath techniques and mindfulness to gently engage in the feeling sensations in your body. Working with evidence-based body-centred interventions reduces trauma symptoms by helping to regulate the autonomic nervous system. Over time a more positive relationship with your body is possible as you practise making positive choices based on this more attuned awareness of how your body is responding to any given situation. After the Foundations course it is possible to continue by joining the Ongoing Therapeutic class. You will: * Learn about nervous system regulation * Learn tools to build capacity for feeling * Build compassion for yourself and your body * Experience a safe supportive space where you can come just as you are * Learn practices to take into your life What to expect: * Everyone in choice to participate in their own way that's best for them * Gentle invitations to movement * Group awareness while focusing on personal experience What's included: * Course booklet * Weekly emails * Tools to practice at home This programme is not suitable for people who: * are being treated under the Mental Health Act. * are currently experiencing suicidal ideation * are having symptoms of psychosis. * are struggling with dissociative symptoms and/or Disassociative Identity Disorder. * have angry outbursts and have the potential to be a risk to others. * have been to the Emergency Department/Crisis Resolution for risk issues within the past 6 months INVESTMENT $270 supported | $300 fair | $350 supporting Our aspiration is to embody the qualities of fairer community.
